Sister Sister

Well, I'm not being super consistent with my posts. Life gets kind of hectic and busy. This week I am preparing for recruitment for my sorority. One of the really awesome parts of this week is seeing my lovely sisters that I haven't seen all/most summer. Here are a couple of pictures from last night...
Ashley, Katie, me, Jasmine
This is part of my family. I absolutely love them, as I've mentioned before. Ashley and Jasmine are so much taller than me and my little Katie. My little Shalandra is short like us too. Ashley and Jasmine are already tall by nature, but then they decided to wear platform heels as well...thus the extreme height difference seen above. (And they're gorgeous) They really are amazing women and I feel so blessed to call them my friends, my sisters, and my family.

This is my sister friend Jessie. She is an amazing woman, friend, and sister. Last summer we spent three weeks together on a study abroad/mission trip called Mercer on Mission. We went to Poland for a couple of days, Armenia for two weeks, and Georgia (the country) for one week. We knew each other before since we were part of Mercer Service Scholars together and I was a new sister, but we didn't know each other very well. Through this trip and the experiences we had, we became so close. We were immediately paired together to share a room in our first stop in Poland and we ended up sharing a room (and bed) in Armenia and another room in Georgia. I am so thankful for this time together and that we are sisters. It has made our bond even closer.
Us from our trip to Georgia (the country)
I cannot thank her enough for all the times after our trip that she made me laugh and introduced me to new people or came running over to my apartment because she found out I was upset and crying. I know that she is always there for me and I hope she knows that I am always there for her. I am so thankful that our friendship continues and I know that after she graduates in December that we will remain close even with distance between us. Hopefully, we will one day be able to take our trip back to Armenia and create new wonderful memories.
*I wrote this last night and didn't post it and then today Jessie wrote me a super sweet note and made me cry. We have shared so many memories together and helped each other through so much it seems. I am so thankful for her.

I have been so blessed by the relationships I have gained through Alpha Gam and these are just a couple of examples. I could go on and on about my family and other sisters that have greatly impacted my life. I'm sure there will be other posts about them. As I reflect on these relationships and my sisters, I am filled with happiness, love, and gratitude. Thank you to all my sisters who have been there for me and made my collegiate experience so much more memorable! You will always have a special place in my heart.
